My teaching background includes an array of different subjects, age groups, venues, and levels in the US and abroad. I’ve taught high school Spanish in Baltimore, elementary school children in NYC as a writer in the schools program, and in community settings such as public libraries as well as SAGE Queens, where I worked with LGBTQ senior citizens. I’ve conducted workshops and courses in basic skills, reproductive health, and English at community centers in Philadelphia. I’ve also taught English to aspiring professionals in Leisure at Breda’s University of Applied Sciences, business English at Hotelschool The Hague, and English and test preparation for the Cambridge exams at Amsterdam’s Hogeschool, as well as academic instruction in the expository writing program at New York University and ethnographic writing at the University of Amsterdam.

I strive to provide an individualized learning experience for students, based on the understanding that people have different needs and learning styles, and that teaching and learning are not one-size-fits-all products. I also enjoy working closely with colleagues on curricular development and designing lessons that meet pedagogical and professional goals. I am well-organized, proactive, friendly, creative, insightful, and supportive. Since the pandemic hit in early 2020, I have worked extensively with blended learning and online teaching formats, especially via Microsoft Teams.

I am available to give writing workshops to undergraduates learning to write academic papers as well as to masters and doctoral students working on theses and dissertations. I also give workshops to other teachers about writing instruction. If you would like to invite me to your institution or would like more information, please contact me.
