Andrew Gebhardt is an editor, writer, translator, and teacher. He has worked as an editor for many years with clients around the world on commercial, academic, and creative texts. He has published essays, poetry, and translations, in addition to Holland Flowering, a book of nonfiction published by the University of Amsterdam and University of Chicago press. His work has appeared in many places, including The Antioch Review, Poetry, Asymptote, Rattapallax, Subtropics, The Dodge, and Puerto del Sol.

He has received grants and fellowships from several institutions, including the Fulbright Commission and The New York Times Foundation, and holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Amsterdam as well as degrees from New York University and Sarah Lawrence College.
